Trade Manager

Location: Hybrid working. Office location is Jazz Events, Higher Kinnerton, CH4 9AJ.
Reports to: Managing Director
Salary: Competitive, based on experience
Employment Type: Full Time, 37.5 hours per week

With several events taking place each year, our team is committed to curating memorable occasions for a variety of audiences.

We are looking for a dynamic and detail-oriented Event Manager to join our team, playing a pivotal role in ensuring the longterm success of our events.

Role Overview

We are seeking a highly organised and communicative Trade Manager to oversee all aspects of trader and activity provider management across our portfolio of festivals and events. This is a hands-on role requiring excellent communication and planning skills, attention to detail, and the ability to thrive under pressure.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the full end-to-end process of trader applications, bookings, contracts and payments

  • Source and secure engaging activity providers across crafts, active experiences and wellness offerings. Source new and unique marketplace and food traders that align with each event’s target audience and brand. This will include visiting other festivals and events of a similar nature.

  • Serve as the main point of contact for all traders and activity providers, providing clear and timely communication throughout the planning process

  • Manage trader logistics including arrival times, power/infrastructure requirements, access arrangements, and onsite support

  • Allocate trader positions in line with site plans and operational considerations

  • Manage activity schedules to maximise engagement, flow and audience participation across event days

  • Negotiate competitive pricing and contracts with traders and activity providers

  • Analyse trader performance and audience response to inform future selection and booking strategies

  • Maintain up-to-date records and databases of all trader and activity provider documentation and compliance requirements

  • Be present and actively manage traders and activities on site at all events, solving any problems calmly, quickly and professionally

  • Conduct post-event evaluations from traders and activity providers to improve future events

  • Exceptional organisational skills and attention to detail

  • Confident and clear communicator, both written and verbal

  • Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines under pressure

  • Friendly, approachable and professional manner when dealing with traders, activity providers and colleagues

  • Strong negotiation skills with a commercial mindset

  • Creative and curious, with an eye for emerging trends and audience engagement opportunities

  • Comfortable working long hours on event days, including weekends and evenings

Essential Requirements

  • Previous experience in event operations, trader/vendor management, or similar role

  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel/stay onsite at events as required

  • Competency in spreadsheets, email communications and administrative systems

  • Strong understanding of health & safety and licensing considerations in an event context
